Dewy Pine flowering under artificial light! 8)

Hi all,

can you imagine a Dewy Pine flowers on a window sill under fluorescent tubes - even in the middle of winter? Well, I guess some people could hardly believe a Drosophyllum lusitanicum survives on a window sill at all....hehehe. ;) In fact it´s the second season these plants spend winter indoors. I´m not willing to take any more risks leaving the plants on the balcony during winter after I have lost a couple of plants in light frosts! X( Apart from that the light conditions are terrible in winter here in Northern Germany. So, I took the plants on the window sill after Christmas if I´m not wrong. They are lit by two 54 Watt T5 fluorescent tubes with daylight spectrum. For photography I have taken the plants into the kitchen where the sun was shining through the window this morning.

This is the nicest flower so far. The petals of the earlier flowers were not equally arranged - leaving a kind of gap between two petals. :(

In the background there are several Asclepioideae (or was it Asclepiadaceae *???*) - Ceropegia and Huernia.

I rarely see Drosophyllum flowers that open btw! Usually the petals stay upright building a funnel shaped flower.

Thanks for watching! Bye bye!

Andy

PS: Is it possible I never posted a close-up of a (furled) leaf?
